Is GERD severity affected by the size of Hiatal Hernias?

Hiatal Hernia (HH) is associated with GERD; however, the effect of HH size on severity of GERD have previously not been established. A study with 897 patients was conducted to evaluate the relationship between HH size and the severity of GERD.

Larger HHs, Particularly ≥2 cm Are Associated With More Severe GERD Parameters.

GERD: Gastroesophageal reflux disease; HH: Hiatal Hernia
